STUFF YOUR FACE WITH FOOD, LOVE AND DESIRE

Mijal Rovinski, psychologist specializing in women's mental health, relationships and trauma

Women have learned that it's normal to starve — emotionally and physically. We're expected to settle for crumbs, which is what sustains diet culture and dating culture.

My mission in this life is to accompany women in taking up space after trauma. To relearn that hunger is not acceptable, and to demand satisfaction, connection, and pleasure.

I want to contribute to women's whole health, to building freer and more conscious relationships, and to a more human understanding of trauma. I want more women who are free and full of life.

In their words

What clients share

It's a little hard to put into words because you're MAGIC haha. I think the biggest impact was that no matter how big or small, strange or complex something was, you already knew it, you already understood it, I never had to explain myself. Walking into your office was walking into being myself; I'd leave every session wanting to be my best version, simply because you always believed I could be. That intentional patient-therapist frequency you bring is what turned my life 180 degrees. Thanks to you I'm a fulfilled mom, I'm a mom! I'm fulfilled! The two things I never believed I'd be in that first session we had. Thank you Mijal, truly, for changing my life with your therapy — so intentional, informed, and somehow WAY too efficient haha. You're magic, love you ♥️♥️♥️
— Patient
The impact you've had on my life has been incredible — your support literally changed my life, how I relate to others, and how I learned to set limits and respect them! I wouldn't be half the person I am without those years of help you gave me! I'll be grateful to you for the rest of my life!
— Patient
Working with Mijal means entering a safe, compassionate space where you can work through the hard stuff, feel you have the most professional guidance — always keeping up to date — and trust that the person in front of you won't stop until she finds the best path. As I see it, I owe her my life: the one she helped me rescue, and the one I still have left to live.

You helped me realize I was in survival mode and build — and actually use — a toolbox.

How I work

A systemic-constructionist approach

I work from a systemic-constructionist approach, which understands that what happens to us doesn't occur in isolation, but within our relationships, histories, and contexts. In therapy, we explore how we've learned to understand ourselves and our experiences, and we open space to build new ways of relating, of understanding our story, and of living.

01

Curiosity

I understand curiosity as a fundamental tool in therapy: rather than assuming we already know why something happens, we approach the experience with open questions and without judgment.

02

Social context & life history

Who you are is shaped by relationships, culture, and the story you've lived. We make sense of the present in that wider context.

03

A safe space

Therapy needs to feel safe enough to be honest. I hold a space where you can show up exactly as you are, at your own pace.
